Three House Pictures

1. I've been working hard to keep the studio organized since the big clean-up effort:
2. Here are the wool-wrapped laurel branches Eli made for my birthday:
3. And this is the panini-griller thingy we bought for ourselves. It has pretty much changed everything -the sandwich creativity over here is off the charts.

Found It

I had a hard day at work but when I got home I found this little pink feather by the driveway.

This made me feel squishy and weepy inside (in a good way).

Community Mosaic

At the fundraiser today, Karen and I were in charge of the community art-making station. We did a large scale version of a project I came up with for my EC kids -  model magic "texture tiles" painted with watercolor and glued onto a large canvas. Everyone adds their contribution by making their individual tile, and then we combine them all to form a vibrant community mosaic...

Saturday Afternoon

We were given free museum passes by the parents of a student, so we drove to Raleigh today to see the Munch exhibit and wonder the permanent collections.

Plaster Birds

We've been working on plaster birds in art club, and today some of them were completed. The armatures are just newspaper, cardboard, and masking tape, and we used plaster cloth as an alternative to regular paper mache, just to spice things up a bit.
Here are a few of them drying after being covered in the plaster:
And then we  painted!

I Heart Art

Below is the postcard I designed for our annual I Heart Art fundraiser, which is coming up this weekend:

Here are the art pieces I am donating to the silent art auction - this is 14"x11" framed, made with watercolor, ink, and relief printing.
And this collage is a papercut on bristol board and is 8"x10".
I'm hoping lots of people come out and buy art, eat at the yummy food trucks, and work on the community art project (that's where I'm stationed, so come say hi)! These kids art kits I put together will also be for sale, as will lots more beautiful art AND these handprinted I Heart Art tote bags!
P.S. Today is my sister's birthday! Happy day, Kat!
