fun with screen printing

here are some random things i've been working on in the studio... i've been silkscreening on fabric using hand-cut stencils:

as well as using the photo emulsion method:

i am not sure what i am making with all these fabric prints, but i'm having a good time experimenting. at some point i would like to try to get good at sewing on a machine so i can make them into neat things. i currently hand sew everything, which i actually really enjoy, but it's not as sturdy and certainly not as fast. for some reason i am really intimidated by sewing machines - i've used them a few times and i just haven't felt that i could control them properly. maybe i should take a class...

I LOVE these! Good job. My husband is a screen printer and I know the amount of work involved in this. And, you really should practice your sewing on the machine. You will ask yourself why you did not do it sooner!

I am going to link to your blog :)

i have a sewing machine and could use a reason to pull it out of hibernation.

One of the reasons I like your blog is because you take us along on your journey of creativity. You don't just show us the final product and say: Ta da! You include us, and make us feel part of it, that we had something to do with it, somehow.

I guess that's why you are an art therapist, because you understand the process of creating.
